How We’ve Helped
WHO has provided nearly 1000 volunteer hours assisting Evanston residents in a variety of ways. Examples include finding a home and organizing the acquisition of furniture and household items for a family moving from a shelter into their first true home, accessing resources to alleviate food and housing insecurity, various types of support during the COVID crisis, and temporary hotel costs.
WHO has provided funding for:
Groceries, kids’ birthday gifts, and apartment credit check fees
Cleaning a bed-bug infested apartment
Bus passes for Evanston residents to get to a new job
Short-term physical therapy for an injured uninsured mom
WHO has also made donations to the ETHS Boosters, Girl Forward, and the ETHS Foundation and will support other not-for-profits that align with WHO ’s mission
